Khosla Family Completes $9.6 Billion Purchase of Seattle Seahawks
The Khosla family has completed the purchase of the Seattle Seahawks, the reigning Super Bowl champions, for $9.612 billion. This transaction was finalized on Thursday in Renton, Washington, just over a week after NFL owners approved the sale.
The family expressed their excitement about the acquisition, highlighting the team's championship culture and commitment to the Seattle community. Vinod Khosla will serve as chair, while Neeru Khosla takes on the role of controlling owner and president of the Seahawks Charitable Foundation.
In addition to the Khosla family, a group of co-owners has been announced, including notable figures such as Mark Stevens and Penny Pritzker. The sale aligns with the wishes of the late team owner Paul Allen, whose estate initiated the sale process earlier this year. As part of the agreement, the Khosla family had to divest their ownership stake in the San Francisco 49ers.
