Kieren Briggs to Leave GWS as Unrestricted Free Agent
Kieren Briggs, a ruckman for GWS, will depart the Giants this off-season after deciding to exercise his rights as an unrestricted free agent.
Briggs is anticipated to sign with Richmond early in the upcoming free agency window, following strong connections to the club. He played 18 games this season, experiencing a dip in form that saw him fall behind teammate Nick Madden before returning to the lineup due to an injury to Madden.
Briggs debuted with GWS in 2021 and had a standout season in 2024, playing a career-high 24 games. GWS football boss Jason McCartney acknowledged Briggs' contributions to the team and expressed regret over his departure. The Giants have also confirmed that Jake Stringer and Jesse Hogan will leave the club, while other players, including Toby Greene, remain off-contract.
