Kimi Antonelli Achieves Historic Comeback Victory at Italian Grand Prix

Kimi Antonelli secured a remarkable comeback victory at the Italian Grand Prix, becoming the first Italian to win his home race in 60 years. Starting from 19th position due to a grid penalty at Monza, Antonelli quickly moved up the ranks, reaching sixth place shortly after the race began.

During the 53-lap race, Antonelli engaged in a fierce battle with his Mercedes teammate George Russell and Red Bull's Max Verstappen. After a strategic pit stop facilitated by a virtual safety car, Antonelli reclaimed the lead with just four laps remaining, ultimately finishing ahead of Russell.

Despite a moment of uncertainty when he skidded into the gravel while attempting to overtake Russell, Antonelli maintained his pace and secured his seventh win of the season. He now leads Russell in the championship standings by 66 points as the series prepares for the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid.
