Kimi Antonelli Keeps Original Trophy from First F1 Victory
Kimi Antonelli, a driver for Mercedes, has disclosed that the team permitted him to retain the original trophy from his first Formula 1 victory at the 2026 Chinese Grand Prix.
In an interview with GQ Magazine, Antonelli showcased the trophy he received during the podium ceremony following his significant win. Typically, F1 teams keep the original trophies and provide drivers with replicas, but Mercedes made an exception for Antonelli to honor his inaugural victory.
Antonelli expressed the importance of this trophy, noting that it represents a memorable milestone in his career. He has since achieved five additional wins in the early part of the 2026 season and currently leads the drivers' championship by 59 points over George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, who are tied in points.
