Kimi Antonelli recorded the fastest lap during the second practice session at the Madring, where drivers faced challenging conditions with air temperatures at 30 degrees Celsius and track temperatures reaching 53 degrees.
During the session, teams showcased several upgrades. McLaren introduced a new rear wing, while Mercedes made adjustments to their rear wing and front drum. Red Bull implemented changes to their rear corner and floor bib, and Ferrari upgraded their rear suspension. Alpine optimized their floor board, and Cadillac added a new rear wing flap and diffuser vane.
Despite a smooth first practice, the second session saw multiple track limit violations and some drivers struggling with car handling. Antonelli's best time was 33.662, placing him ahead of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, who followed closely behind.
