Kimi Antonelli Poised to Break Records at F1 United States Grand Prix
Kimi Antonelli is on the verge of making history at the upcoming United States Grand Prix, where a victory would crown him the youngest Formula 1 world champion and Italy's first champion in 73 years.
Currently leading the championship with 340 points, Antonelli needs to win the race while his competitors, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, must finish in lower positions to secure his title. With 150 points still available, the championship remains competitive, although Russell is expected to face an engine penalty in Las Vegas, complicating his chances.
At just 20 years and 61 days old during the Austin race, Antonelli would surpass Sebastian Vettel's record of becoming the youngest champion at 23 years and 134 days. He would also be the first driver born in the 2000s to win the title and the third Italian champion in F1 history, following Nino Farina and Alberto Ascari. Antonelli has already set multiple records this season, including becoming the youngest polesitter and championship leader.
