Kimi Antonelli Secures Ninth Win at US Grand Prix, Moves Closer to F1 Title
Kimi Antonelli won his ninth race of the season at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, further solidifying his lead in the Formula 1 championship standings. The Mercedes driver started from pole position and could secure the title at the upcoming race in Mexico City.
Antonelli's victory was complemented by the fourth-place finish of Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton and eighth-place finish of Mercedes' George Russell, keeping the championship race alive. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc finished second, while Red Bull's Max Verstappen took third.
At just 20 years old, Antonelli is on the verge of becoming the youngest champion in F1 history and the first Italian to win the title since 1953. His strong start allowed him to take control of the race early, while Verstappen struggled to keep pace. Antonelli only needs to finish ninth or better in Mexico City to clinch the championship.
