Kimi Antonelli Secures Pole Position at US Grand Prix
Kimi Antonelli has secured pole position for the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix, marking his seventh pole of the 2026 season. The qualifying session took place in Austin, where Antonelli outperformed Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar with a time of 1m34.035s.
This achievement comes after Antonelli's first pole since the summer break, breaking Verstappen's streak of two consecutive poles. Charles Leclerc finished fourth, while Lewis Hamilton was fifth, and George Russell placed sixth. The McLaren drivers, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, followed in seventh and eighth, respectively.
Antonelli can clinch the championship title this weekend if he wins the race and Russell finishes ninth or lower. In the qualifying rounds, Pierre Gasly and others were eliminated, with Gasly missing the cutoff by just 0.022s.
