Kimi Antonelli Secures Victory at Monza After Starting 19th

Kimi Antonelli, driving for Mercedes GP, achieved a remarkable victory at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza after starting from 19th position. Following an early red flag, he surged through the field and took the lead from teammate George Russell after 18 laps, ultimately securing the win on lap 50 of 53.

Russell finished in second place, 3.857 seconds behind Antonelli, while Max Verstappen from Red Bull-Ford completed the podium in third, 14.718 seconds off the pace. This victory marks Antonelli's seventh career win, extending his lead in the Drivers' Championship to 66 points over Russell and 76 points over Lewis Hamilton.

In the Constructors' Championship, Mercedes increased its lead with a total of 468 points, ahead of Ferrari and McLaren-Mercedes. The race featured intense battles, including Lando Norris finishing fourth and Oscar Piastri fifth, while Lewis Hamilton had a challenging race, finishing sixth.
