Kinley Rasmus Ties LLWS Record with Impressive Performance

Kinley Rasmus, a 12-year-old from Phenix City, Alabama, has made history at the Little League World Series by tying the record for the most strikeouts by a girl in the tournament's history.

In a critical game against West Chester, Pennsylvania, Rasmus entered in the third inning with her team down 5-0. She delivered an outstanding performance, throwing 4⅔ scoreless innings and achieving six strikeouts, leading her team to a 6-5 victory in extra innings. This brought her tournament total to 14 strikeouts, matching the record set by Mo’ne Davis in 2014.

Rasmus comes from a family with a rich baseball heritage, including her father Cory Rasmus, who pitched in Major League Baseball, and her uncle Colby Rasmus, a former MLB outfielder. Kinley is the 25th girl to participate in the LLWS and one of only nine girls to pitch in the event. Her family legacy and support play a significant role in her achievements on the field.
