Kirk Cousins Aims for Milestone Against Patriots
Kirk Cousins is on the verge of joining a rare group of quarterbacks as he prepares to face the New England Patriots. He needs just three touchdown passes in the upcoming game to achieve this milestone, which has historically been associated with MVP winners.
The veteran quarterback has been instrumental for the Las Vegas Raiders, who currently hold a 3-1 record, with their only loss coming against the Kansas City Chiefs. In that game, Cousins threw two touchdown passes but also had a costly interception.
If he succeeds, Cousins would become only the third quarterback to throw 14 or more touchdowns in the first five games for a franchise, joining Patrick Mahomes and Kurt Warner. Both of those quarterbacks went on to win MVP awards in their respective seasons. With the Patriots dealing with defensive injuries, Cousins has a favorable opportunity to reach this achievement.
