Kirk Cousins Embraces Role as Mentor for Raiders' Future Quarterback Fernando Mendoza

The Las Vegas Raiders have signed quarterback Kirk Cousins to provide both immediate leadership and mentorship for the future, particularly for Fernando Mendoza. Cousins has performed well at times but understands that his primary role is to prepare Mendoza for the starting position.

After starting the season with three wins, the Raiders have since lost four consecutive games, reigniting discussions about Mendoza's potential as the team's future quarterback. Cousins is aware of these conversations and remains committed to supporting the team and Mendoza.

Cousins has expressed his willingness to step aside if he is not the best option for the team, emphasizing the importance of setting a positive example for Mendoza. While the timing of Mendoza's transition to starter remains uncertain, head coach Klint Kubiak indicated that the coaching staff is considering when to make that decision.
