Kirk Cousins Expresses Frustration Over Practice Hits
During a joint practice session with the Texans, Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins experienced frustration when defenders hit his arm. This incident occurred on Tuesday and, while not as intense as a previous altercation with teammate Maxx Crosby, it still upset Cousins.
Cousins noted that he was struck on the elbow as defenders closed in on him, prompting him to remind both Crosby and the Texans to avoid hitting his arm. He expressed concern about the potential for injuries, referencing past experiences where hits had negatively impacted his season.
Despite wearing a red jersey indicating he should not be contacted, Cousins questioned the effectiveness of this rule, suggesting that the frequent violations undermine its purpose. The Raiders are also considering when Cousins will transition to first overall pick Fernando Mendoza.
