Kirsten Commends Sri Lanka's Attitude Despite Batting Issues in 1st Test
In the first Test match against India, Sri Lanka's coach Gary Kirsten expressed satisfaction with his team's attitude despite their loss. The match, which extended to the fifth day after Sri Lanka recovered from a precarious position of 90 for five, showcased their determination.
Kirsten highlighted that while the team's fighting spirit was commendable, the batting performance, particularly from the top order, ultimately hindered their chances of winning. He praised players Devdutt Padikkal and Manav Suthar for their contributions, noting Padikkal's disciplined innings and Suthar's promising talent as a spinner.
Kirsten also remarked on the quality of the pitch, describing it as favorable for play.
