KL Rahul's Dropped Catch Costs India in Warm-Up Match Against Sri Lanka
During a three-day warm-up match against Sri Lanka XI at the Nondescripts Cricket Club Ground in Colombo, KL Rahul experienced a disappointing moment by dropping a catch at first slip.
The incident occurred in the 26th over when spinner Kuldeep Yadav's delivery found the edge of Ravindu Rasantha's bat. Rahul attempted to catch the ball with one hand but failed, allowing Rasantha, who was on 43 runs at the time, to continue his innings. Rasantha eventually scored 71 runs before being dismissed by Manav Suthar.
Rahul was leading the Indian team in the absence of regular captain Shubman Gill, who missed the match due to a finger injury sustained during practice. The Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed that Gill would not participate on the first day of the warm-up match as a precaution.
