Klay Thompson and Mavericks Reach Buyout Agreement; Expected to Join Miami Heat

The Mavericks announced the buyout agreement on Friday, with Thompson having played only 21 games alongside Luka Dončić and 45 with Kyrie Irving during his tenure.

Mavericks president Masai Ujiri expressed gratitude for Thompson's contributions, acknowledging his status as a significant player in the league. Following the buyout, Thompson is anticipated to sign with the Miami Heat after clearing waivers on Sunday, although specific contract details remain unconfirmed.

During his time in Dallas, Thompson was the team's leading outside shooter, making 418 three-pointers and appearing in 141 of 164 regular-season games.
