Knicks Finalize Roster, Adding James Wiseman and Waiving Bruce Brown
The New York Knicks completed their roster for the 2026-27 season on Saturday by waiving Bruce Brown and retaining James Wiseman, a former No. 2 overall pick.
Wiseman has participated in the Knicks' preseason games, averaging 8.0 points and 4.3 rebounds across four appearances. Following the departure of Mitchell Robinson to the Boston Celtics, the Knicks aimed to strengthen their center rotation, bringing in Wiseman on a training camp contract that will be converted into a league minimum deal.
Wiseman has had limited playing time in recent seasons, appearing in only five games over the last two years with Indiana. While he is expected to serve as reserve depth, he may see some action during the regular season as the Knicks manage player minutes after their championship run. Bruce Brown, who played all 82 games last season with the Denver Nuggets, will now seek opportunities elsewhere.
