Kofi and Austin Creed Discuss WWE's Pay Cut Offer
Kofi and Austin Creed, the AEW World Trios Champions, recently reflected on their transition from WWE to AEW during media appearances. They revealed that WWE had approached them with a proposal to restructure their contracts, which included a pay cut exceeding 50 percent.
Creed recounted receiving a call from WWE while attending his child's football game, initially puzzled by the unknown Connecticut number. He speculated that the conversation might be negative, especially given the timing after WrestleMania. After discussing the situation with Kofi, they both recognized that remaining with WWE was not viable for their careers.
Kofi also shared that he received the call while celebrating his son's birthday, which added to the emotional weight of the decision. Both wrestlers emphasized the importance of considering their family's financial security before ultimately deciding to join AEW, where they were later announced as partners of Swerve Strickland and won the AEW World Trios Championships.
