Kofi Kingston Discusses Influence of Prince Nana on WWE Character
Kofi Kingston recently shared insights into how Prince Nana influenced his original WWE character shortly after his AEW debut and victory in the World Trios Championship.
Kingston, who joined WWE in 2006, debuted as a Jamaican character in 2008. He explained that he faced backlash from both Jamaican and Ghanaian fans for not representing his Ghanaian heritage. He decided to move away from a Ghanaian character because Prince Nana was already portraying that role in Ring of Honor, prompting him to create a unique persona.
Kingston reflected on their past interactions and noted Nana's involvement in a recent AEW battle royal, where they successfully collaborated. He praised Nana's knowledge of the wrestling business and expressed appreciation for their connection over the years.
