Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz made history at the Solheim Cup in Cromvoirt, Netherlands, by achieving their fifth consecutive win as a foursomes pairing. They triumphed over Charley Hull and Lottie Woad with a score of 4 and 3 in the opening match on Friday.
The match began with Woad putting Europe ahead with a birdie on the first hole, but the American duo quickly took control, with Corpuz making a birdie putt on the seventh hole to lead 2 up. The match concluded on the 15th green, marking Korda's record of 11 wins in Solheim Cup play.
U.S. captain Angela Stanford, in her debut as captain, expressed confidence in Korda and Corpuz's pairing, highlighting their complementary skills. The opening session saw Europe split the matches 2-2, with Alison Lee and Lauren Coughlin winning their match against Nanna Koerstz Madsen and Céline Boutier.
