Kota Ibushi to Undergo Surgery Again Next Month

Kota Ibushi, a former IWGP Champion, revealed on social media that he is scheduled for surgery on September 17. This procedure is necessary to replace a plate in his leg that was deemed too weak to facilitate proper healing after a broken femur.

Ibushi sustained the injury during a match against Josh Alexander last October. Initially optimistic about a quick return to wrestling, he has since acknowledged that his recovery may take up to two years. He has undergone multiple surgeries, including one in February, and was seen limping at Hiroshi Tanahashi's retirement ceremony in January.

Despite being advised against returning to contact sports, Ibushi remains hopeful for a comeback and expressed a desire to eventually stop relying on strong painkillers.
