Kucherov's Trade Request Won't Impact Lightning's Goals, Says Cooper

Tampa Bay Lightning head coach Jon Cooper addressed Nikita Kucherov's recent trade request, asserting that it will not alter the team's goals for the current season. Kucherov, the reigning NHL MVP, has expressed his intention not to re-sign with the team and has requested a trade.

Cooper emphasized that Kucherov remains a vital part of the team and is committed to playing alongside his teammates. Lightning general manager Julien Brisebois confirmed that the team has no plans to trade Kucherov. Despite the trade request, Kucherov has maintained strong performance, recording four goals and 11 assists in 12 games.

The Lightning currently hold a record of 8-3-1, placing them fourth in the Atlantic Division. Cooper reassured that Kucherov will continue to play at his usual high level, dismissing any speculation that his performance might decline due to the trade situation.
