Kuldeep Yadav Misses Colombo Test Due to Viral Illness
Kuldeep Yadav was not included in India's squad for the second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo due to a viral illness. India's batting coach, Sitanshu Kotak, confirmed that Kuldeep had been experiencing discomfort since leaving Galle after the first match.
As a result of Kuldeep's unavailability, India opted to give a debut to Saransh Jain, emphasizing the need for an off-spinner against a team with multiple left-handed batsmen. Kotak noted that Kuldeep had shown some improvement but was still not fit enough to play.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India stated that Kuldeep was not fully recovered and could serve as a concussion substitute if necessary. This situation has led to varying accounts within the Indian camp regarding Kuldeep's condition.
