Kyle Connor's Late Goal Secures Jets' Win Over Avalanche
In a tightly contested match on Wednesday, Kyle Connor netted his fifth goal of the season with just one minute remaining, propelling the Winnipeg Jets to a 3-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche in Winnipeg.
Mark Scheifele assisted Connor's game-winning shot after he received a pass near the boards. Scheifele also contributed to the game with an assist on Cole Perfetti's goal, marking his first two points of the season. Defenceman Dylan Samberg added two assists for the Jets, who improved their record to 3-0-1.
The Avalanche's Jaden Schwartz and Fedor Svechkov each recorded a goal and an assist. Schwartz opened the scoring in the second period, but Connor quickly equalized. Winnipeg took the lead again with a goal from Perfetti, only for Svechkov to tie the game in the third period. The Jets' goaltender, Stuart Skinner, made 32 saves, while Colorado's Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 16 shots. The Jets will next face the Calgary Flames.
