Kyle Kirkwood Dominates Freedom 250 After Mental Reset
Kyle Kirkwood achieved a significant victory at the Freedom 250 Grand Prix, held around the National Mall, where he led 128 of 147 laps. The Andretti Global driver, who started second, quickly took the lead from pole-sitter Alex Palou on the opening lap and maintained control throughout the race.
This win came after Kirkwood experienced a crash in his previous race, prompting a mental reset that he credited for his performance. He expressed that the mistakes from the prior weekend motivated him to prepare more intensely for this event.
Palou, the championship leader, faced difficulties during the race, ultimately crashing on Lap 123 and finishing in 20th place. This outcome significantly reduced his championship lead over Kirkwood from 133 points to 91.
