Kyle Kirkwood emerged victorious at the Freedom 250 Grand Prix held in Washington D.C., marking a significant achievement for the Andretti Global driver. The event, celebrating the nation's 250th anniversary, saw Kirkwood lead 128 of the 147 laps on a circuit that included notable landmarks.

President Donald Trump waved the green flag to start the race, which attracted around 215,000 fans over two days. Kirkwood expressed pride in winning as an American, acknowledging the support from fans. The race proceeded smoothly without major incidents, a notable feat given the tight timeline for organization.

In addition to Kirkwood's win, Will Power finished third and Marcus Ericsson took fourth, with Christian Lundgaard from Arrow McLaren finishing second. Reigning champion Alex Palou had a difficult race, finishing 20th and losing some of his championship lead. He encountered multiple issues, including a penalty and a collision with the wall.
