Kyle Shanahan Optimistic About Mike Evans' Return for Sunday Game
Mike Evans, a wide receiver for the 49ers, left Monday night's game after aggravating an Achilles injury. Coach Kyle Shanahan indicated that they are hopeful Evans will be available for the upcoming game against the Falcons.
Shanahan noted that Evans is accustomed to managing this type of injury, which flared up during the game. Although it nearly sidelined him for the entire match, Shanahan does not believe it will be a long-term issue. The 49ers were leading 20-3 when Evans exited, but the Commanders mounted a comeback, resulting in a narrow 23-17 victory for San Francisco.
Shanahan acknowledged that losing Evans impacted the team's performance in the second half, but he remains optimistic about Evans' recovery before the next game.
