Kyle Shanahan Set to Coach 49ers' Preseason Opener Against Titans

Kyle Shanahan, head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, is preparing to return to coaching for the team's preseason opener against the Tennessee Titans next Thursday at Levi's Stadium. This comes after he suffered a concussion and other injuries in a car accident on July 14.

Shanahan has been gradually increasing his involvement in training camp, where he initially participated in a limited capacity. He has been reviewing game film and addressed the team for the first time on August 1. During his recovery, offensive line coach Chris Foerster and defensive coordinator Raheem Morris have been managing practices.

The car crash occurred when Shanahan turned into oncoming traffic while trying to retrieve a fallen cell phone, resulting in a concussion, broken ribs, and other injuries. Fortunately, the other driver was unharmed, and no citations were issued. Shanahan has reported lingering concussion symptoms but is optimistic about his return to full coaching duties.
