Kyle Shanahan has signed a contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers following their recent victory over the Rams in Australia.

Following a significant win against the Rams in Australia, the San Francisco 49ers have announced that head coach Kyle Shanahan has signed a contract extension.

According to Tom Pelissero of Netflix, the extension was finalized during the offseason, although specific terms were not revealed. Shanahan's previous contract was set to last until 2027, and he is now expected to remain with the team for additional years.

Since joining the 49ers in 2017, Shanahan has led the team to two NFC Championships in 2019 and 2023, both times reaching the Super Bowl but losing to the Chiefs. He has accumulated 92 victories in regular season and postseason play over his ten seasons, approaching the franchise record of 108 wins held by George Seifert.

Despite facing numerous injuries last season, the 49ers finished with a 12-5 record and won a postseason game. They will host the Dolphins next Sunday after returning from Australia.
