Kyle Shanahan to Coach 49ers' Preseason Opener After Recovery
After nearly a month of recovery from a serious car accident, Kyle Shanahan, head coach of the 49ers, has announced he will coach the team's preseason opener against the Titans on Thursday.
Shanahan reported significant improvement in his condition, stating that while he still has an annoying cast on his left hand, his ribs and head feel much better. He noted that he continues to experience some headaches and fatigue from the concussion but feels capable of handling his coaching responsibilities.
Although he has assigned some duties to assistant head coach Chris Foerster, Shanahan remains actively involved, watching extensive game tape and participating in team preparations. He expressed confidence in his readiness for the upcoming game, stating he is prepared for the noise and intensity of an NFL environment.
