Kyler Murray Leaves Game After Hard Hit in First Quarter

Kyler Murray left the season opener against the Packers on Sunday after sustaining a significant hit during the first quarter.

While scrambling on a third-and-6 play from the Minnesota 34, Murray slid short of the first down marker and was struck in the head by safety Javon Bullard. He remained on the ground for a period as medical staff attended to him before getting up and walking off to the locker room for further evaluation.

Carson Wentz has stepped in as the quarterback for Minnesota following Murray's exit. The Vikings have also designated J.J. McCarthy as the emergency third quarterback. As of 5:05 p.m. ET, the team announced that Murray is being assessed for a concussion.
