Kylian Mbappe Advocates for Ballon d'Or Despite Lack of Trophies

Kylian Mbappe is making a strong case for the Ballon d'Or this year, asserting that his goal-scoring achievements warrant consideration despite his lack of team trophies with Real Madrid and France.

During the 2025-26 season, Mbappe scored 42 goals in 44 matches for Madrid and became the all-time top scorer in World Cup history with 22 goals, including 10 in the recent tournament. He has also netted four goals for Madrid this season.

Mbappe acknowledges that while he has not won titles, individual performance should be a key factor in the Ballon d'Or voting. The award ceremony is set for October 26 in London, and it will consider performances from August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2026. Despite Real Madrid's struggles, including an early exit from the Champions League, Mbappe remains a strong contender for the prestigious award.
