LA Galaxy Manager Claims Casemiro Initially Agreed to Join Before Inter Miami Switch
Los Angeles Galaxy's general manager, Will Kuntz, reported that former Manchester United midfielder Casemiro had initially indicated he wanted to join the Galaxy before ultimately signing with Inter Miami.
Casemiro joined Inter Miami on a free transfer in July, agreeing to a contract that runs until the end of the 2027 MLS season, with an option to extend until June 2029. Kuntz noted that this revelation comes amid an ongoing investigation by Major League Soccer into the transfer, particularly focusing on discovery rights.
The MLS confirmed the investigation shortly after Casemiro's transfer announcement, stating that they are collecting relevant information. While a settlement regarding discovery rights between LA Galaxy and Inter Miami has been reached, the specifics will remain confidential until the investigation concludes.
