Lachie Neale to Join Collingwood After 2026 Season
Two-time Brownlow Medallist Lachie Neale has decided to leave Brisbane and join Collingwood after the conclusion of the 2026 season.
Throughout the year, there was considerable speculation regarding Neale's future, with Collingwood, West Coast, and Brisbane being potential destinations. Reports indicate that Neale has chosen to play under coach Craig McRae at Collingwood, which has offered him a lucrative multi-year contract. Earlier in the season, Neale visited Collingwood's facilities as part of the decision-making process.
Currently, Neale is focused on securing a third consecutive premiership with Brisbane, and any official announcement regarding his move will be made after the conclusion of the Lions' season. The expected contract with Collingwood is a three-year deal. Neale's future became a topic of discussion following a publicized marriage breakdown, which led to speculation about him moving to Perth with his estranged wife and children. However, he is now anticipated to join Collingwood and play alongside Nick Daicos in 2027.
