Ladd McConkey Exits Game Against Chiefs Due to Concussion
Ladd McConkey, a wide receiver for the Los Angeles Chargers, was ruled out of the game against the Kansas City Chiefs due to a concussion. The team confirmed the decision after he was evaluated for a head injury during the first half at Arrowhead Stadium.
At the time of his exit, the Chargers were trailing the Chiefs 9-3. McConkey recorded one reception for 17 yards before leaving the game. He had previously accumulated 12 receptions for 183 yards and one touchdown in the first four games of the season.
This injury comes as McConkey was returning from a foot injury, having participated fully in practice leading up to the game. His absence adds to the Chargers' challenges at wide receiver, especially with Tre’ Harris also sidelined due to a hamstring injury, likely increasing the reliance on Quentin Johnston as the primary receiver. The Chargers entered the game still seeking their first win of the season, holding an 0-5 record, while the Chiefs were 4-0 and leading the AFC West.
