Lamar Jackson Aims to Reignite His Running Game in 2026
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson intends to rely on his running ability in the upcoming season after a challenging previous year marked by injuries.
Last season, Jackson faced hamstring and back issues, resulting in a significant reduction in his rushing attempts, logging only 67 carries for 349 yards and two touchdowns. This was a stark contrast to his career-high performance in 2019, where he rushed 176 times for 1,206 yards and seven touchdowns, leading the Ravens to a 14-2 record and earning his first MVP award.
In response to last season's struggles, the Ravens have made coaching changes, hiring Jesse Minter as head coach and Declan Doyle as offensive coordinator. These adjustments aim to enhance Jackson's running game as he approaches his ninth season, with hopes of achieving his first Super Bowl victory.
