Lambeau Field to Host College Hockey Doubleheader
Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, will host college hockey for the first time in more than two decades on February 20, featuring a doubleheader with the Wisconsin men's team facing Michigan and the women's team taking on Ohio State.
The event, named the Travel Wisconsin Frozen Tundra Faceoff, was announced on Wednesday, just days before Wisconsin's football team plays against No. 4 Notre Dame at the same venue. The last college hockey game at Lambeau Field occurred in 2006, when Wisconsin's men defeated Ohio State 4-2 during the inaugural Frozen Tundra Hockey Classic.
Wisconsin and Michigan have a rich history in men's hockey, with a combined total of 15 national titles and both teams reaching the Frozen Four last season. In women's hockey, Wisconsin and Ohio State have faced each other in the national championship game for the past four years, with Wisconsin winning three of those matchups, including the last two.
