Landon DuPont Receives Top Grade on NHL's 2027 Draft Watch List

Landon DuPont, a defenceman from Calgary, has been awarded an A rating on NHL Central Scouting's preliminary watch list for the 2027 NHL Draft, which was released on Monday.

The 17-year-old, currently a freshman at the University of Michigan, is projected to be the first overall pick. The A rating signifies players likely to be selected in the first round, with midseason rankings expected in January and final rankings in April.

Other players receiving A ratings include Dima Zhilkin, Alexis Joseph, and Brock England. DuPont has recorded six assists in six games this season after previously playing two years with the Everett Silvertips in the Western Hockey League. In total, 176 players developed in the Canadian Hockey League made the watch list, with 19 achieving A ratings.
