Laremy Tunsil Faces Extended Absence Due to Tricep Injury

Laremy Tunsil, the left tackle for the Washington Commanders, has suffered a torn triceps during practice, which is likely to sideline him for a considerable time. The injury occurred while he was engaged in 1-on-1 pass-rush drills against defensive end Odafe Oweh.

This marks the second injury for Tunsil in less than two seasons with the Commanders, as he previously missed three games last year due to a hamstring issue. Tunsil, who is 32 years old, was acquired by Washington in a trade with the Houston Texans before the 2025 season.

Despite the anticipated lengthy recovery, Tunsil is set to earn $34.35 million this season, which includes a $32.5 million signing bonus and a base salary of $1.495 million. His career earnings have surpassed $142.2 million. The Commanders are preparing for their upcoming games against the Eagles and Cowboys in Weeks 1 and 2 of the regular season.
