Las Vegas Raiders Extend Contract with Tight End Michael Mayer
The Las Vegas Raiders confirmed a multi-year contract extension for tight end Michael Mayer on Saturday.
While the specific terms were not disclosed, NFL Network indicated that the deal is a three-year contract valued at $45 million, with $30 million guaranteed. Mayer, who is 25 years old, is set to start the season as the Raiders' primary tight end as Brock Bowers recovers from a knee procedure.
In the 2025 season, Mayer achieved career highs with 35 receptions and 328 receiving yards, along with one touchdown in 13 games, 12 of which he started. Since being drafted by Las Vegas in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft from Notre Dame, he has recorded 83 catches for 788 yards and three touchdowns across 38 games, starting in 32 of them. The Raiders will begin their first season under head coach Klint Kubiak on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.
