Las Vegas Raiders Sign Tight End Zack Kuntz, Waive Chris Collier
The Las Vegas Raiders have signed tight end Zack Kuntz, adding a notable player to their roster. Kuntz, who is 6'8 and weighs 251 pounds, joined the team shortly after practice on Friday, following a workout with the Raiders.
In a corresponding move, the Raiders waived running back Chris Collier, who had struggled to secure a spot on the roster. Kuntz was originally drafted by the New York Jets in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft and spent most of his first two seasons on the practice squad, with limited game experience.
Kuntz's size is seen as a valuable asset for the Raiders, particularly for blocking in the run game, an area where they lacked strength last season. He will face competition in a tight end group that includes standout players like Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer. The Raiders are hopeful that Kuntz can secure a roster spot as they prepare for the upcoming season.
