Layne Riggs Secures Victory at Charlotte, Narrows Championship Gap
Layne Riggs achieved his seventh victory of the season during the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, closing the gap to 17 points behind championship rival Kaden Honeycutt.
The decisive moment came late in the race when Honeycutt, who had been leading, hit the wall, allowing Riggs to take the lead and ultimately the win. Riggs started the race in 13th position but quickly moved through the field, winning Stage 1 before facing challenges during pit stops.
Christian Eckes finished in second place, while Honeycutt dropped to third. The race featured multiple incidents, including a significant pileup that led to a red flag for cleanup. Riggs expressed satisfaction with his performance, noting a shift in mindset that contributed to his success.
