Layne Riggs Secures Victory at NASCAR Truck Series Race in Charlotte
Layne Riggs triumphed in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, significantly impacting the 2026 championship standings. With seven laps remaining in the Ecosave 200, Riggs capitalized on a mistake by Kaden Honeycutt, who had been leading and held a 58-point advantage.
As Honeycutt's vehicle began to struggle, he made contact with the wall, allowing Riggs to take the lead and ultimately win the race. This victory marked Riggs' seventh of the season and reduced his deficit to Honeycutt to just 17 points with four races left in the season. Riggs also completed a series sweep at Charlotte, having previously won there on May 24.
Christian Eckes finished in second place, followed by Honeycutt in third. The race featured a competitive field, with notable finishes including Bayley Currey and Chandler Smith in the top five. The Truck Series will continue at Phoenix Raceway on October 16.
