Leadville 100 MTB Returns for 32nd Edition

The Leadville 100 MTB, recognized as the Race Across the Sky, will take place this weekend for its 32nd edition. The event features a revised course due to the Willow Fire, maintaining the traditional start on Harrison Avenue and the St. Kevin’s climb, but rerouting around Turquoise Lake before reconnecting with the original path at the Powerline descent.

This year's race covers 101.3 miles with 9,897 feet of climbing, attracting 116 professional racers, including 69 men and 47 women. The course has been affected by rain throughout the week, adding to the challenge for participants.

Among the competitors, Keegan Swenson and Matthew Beers are tied in points, while Swenson is favored to win given his previous successes. On the women's side, Sofía Gómez Villafañe leads the Series, with notable challengers like Cecily Decker and Melisa Rollins. The race will be broadcast live starting at 5:45 AM MDT on Saturday, August 15th, on the Life Time Grand Prix YouTube channel.
