
Leandro Paredes Receives 10-Match Ban Following World Cup Final Incident
Leandro Paredes, a member of Argentina's national football team, has been suspended for 10 international matches following his actions after the World Cup final against Spain.
The incident occurred after Argentina lost 1-0 to Spain, where Paredes was involved in altercations with Spanish players, including grabbing Eric Garcia and pushing Gavi. FIFA has charged him with three counts of assault, while other team members also faced disciplinary actions.
In addition to the suspension, Paredes has been fined USD 90,000. Other players, including Nahuel Molina and assistant coach Roberto Ayala, received various bans and fines for their roles in the post-match confrontations.
