Leeds United Signs Nico Elvedi from Borussia Monchengladbach
Leeds United has officially signed defender Nico Elvedi from Borussia Monchengladbach in a deal valued at £8.5 million.
The 29-year-old Swiss international has committed to a three-year contract at Elland Road, reuniting with manager Daniel Farke, who previously coached him at Monchengladbach during the 2022-23 season. The transfer includes an initial fee of £6.8 million, with an additional £1.7 million in performance-related add-ons.
Elvedi, who made 364 appearances for Monchengladbach over 11 years, has also represented Switzerland 73 times, including a full participation in their recent World Cup quarter-final run. His signing follows the arrivals of James Trafford, Harry Wilson, and Tarik Muharemovic this summer. Additionally, Sebastiaan Bornauw has been loaned to Hamburg, while striker Joel Piroe has joined West Ham on loan.
