Leicester City Up for Sale by King Power for Over £200 Million
Leicester City is actively pursuing new ownership as its long-time Thai owners, King Power, plan to sell the club after 16 years of management.
An investment prospectus prepared by Citigroup has been shared with potential buyers, detailing the sale of Leicester, its women's team, and Belgian sister club OH Leuven, along with key assets like the King Power Stadium and the Seagrave training ground. The total valuation of Leicester's physical assets is estimated to exceed £200 million, with the Seagrave complex alone valued at £121 million.
The brochure emphasizes Leicester's notable achievements under King Power, including their Premier League title in 2016 and FA Cup victory in 2021. However, it does not address the club's current position in League One following consecutive relegations. Financial forecasts predict a turnover of over £97 million for the 2026 financial year, but previous financial losses and debts, including over £100 million in bank loans, are not mentioned. King Power acquired Leicester for £35 million in 2010 and has overseen a successful era for the club.
