Leicester Tigers Sign Tongan Hooker Sam Moli
Leicester Tigers have announced the signing of Sam Moli, a hooker who represents Tonga internationally. The New Zealand-born player joins the team following his exit from Super Rugby side Moana Pasifika, which disbanded earlier this year due to financial difficulties.
Moli, aged 27, has made 47 appearances for Moana Pasifika over four years and has earned 27 caps for Tonga since his debut in 2021, including participation in the 2023 Rugby World Cup. Tigers head coach Geoff Parling noted that Moli will enhance the team's hooking options with his physical presence and scrummaging skills.
Parling expressed confidence in Moli's ability to adapt to the demands of Premiership rugby and emphasized the importance of being prepared to seize this opportunity.
