Leonard Williams Signs $90 Million Extension with Seahawks
Defensive tackle Leonard Williams has signed a three-year, $90 million contract extension with the Seattle Seahawks, as reported by ESPN's Ian Rapoport. This move comes as the team seeks to maintain its competitive core following their Super Bowl victory.
At 32 years old, Williams has shown significant improvement in his performance, earning his first All-Pro Second Team selection last season. He recorded 62 combined tackles, seven sacks, nine tackles for loss, and 22 quarterback hits in that season. Over his 11-year NFL career, he has accumulated 61.5 sacks and has been selected to the Pro Bowl three times.
Williams joined the Seahawks in a trade from the New York Giants during the 2023 season and has since contributed 22 sacks in his two-and-a-half seasons with the team. The Seahawks have also made substantial contract extensions for other key players, including wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and cornerback Devon Witherspoon.
