Lewis Hamilton Accepts Responsibility for Strategy Misstep at Singapore GP
Lewis Hamilton has admitted to making a strategic error during the Singapore Grand Prix, which led to his sixth-place finish at the Marina Bay Circuit.
The incident occurred on lap 39 when a virtual safety car was deployed due to Lance Stroll's car issues. At that time, Hamilton had already completed 21 laps on soft tires, while Charles Leclerc, who was in a better position, opted for a pit stop under the VSC.
Hamilton's decision to remain on track for an extended 44-lap stint ultimately cost him valuable time, finishing nearly 46 seconds behind Leclerc. Following the race, Hamilton expressed regret over the strategy, acknowledging his mistake and its impact on the team's points. His result has narrowed his lead over Max Verstappen in the championship standings to eight points.
